Bedtime stories for ages 8 and up

Longer tales, myths and adventures, for children who read on their own but still love being read to at night.

Around 8, many children read on their own, and the bedtime story takes on a different role. It becomes a shared moment around a story a little richer than what they would pick themselves: new words, a plot to follow over several pages.

Here you will meet gods and heroes from old myths, but also robots and explorers, and every story closes gently. Reading aloud still matters at this age, for reasons the guide on reading and the child's brain explains.
